How old is your tattoo?

Day 0

Right after your session

  • Ashlyn will cover the tattoo with a bandage or second-skin film.
  • Leave the cover in place for 2–4 hours (or as instructed for second-skin — it may stay on 3–5 days).
  • Heat and minor oozing are normal. The tattoo is a fresh wound.
Days 1–3

Initial healing

  • Remove the cover and wash gently with fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water. Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
  • Apply a very thin layer of unscented moisturiser (Lubriderm, CeraVe, or Aquaphor sparingly).
  • Repeat 2–3 times per day. Less is more.
  • Redness, soSeeleyss, and plasma weeping are part of normal healing.
Days 4–14

Peeling phase

  • Light peeling and itching are completely normal. Do not pick, scratch, or peel.
  • Continue gentle washing and moisturising 1–2 times per day.
  • Keep out of direct sunlight. No baths, pools, or ocean.
  • Wear loose, breathable clothing over the area.
Weeks 3–6

Long-term care

  • The piece may look slightly dull as the outer layer finishes settling. This is normal.
  • Once fully healed, apply SPF 50+ whenever exposed to sun.
  • Stay hydrated. Moisturise regularly. Healthy skin holds ink better.
  • Share your healed result with Ashlyn — she loves to see the finished work.
